Hours of Operation
The 198 lb Deb back in Jan ’18 felt terrible all the time. At that point, I tipped the scale weighing more than I did when I was pregnant with my son! It was not just the weight and the size, my arms would fall asleep when I was laying down, my heart raced, I often had pains in my chest, waking up every day with a headache, my joints ached, and I felt bloated all the time. I was dizzy, could not sleep, when I got off an airplane my feet were swollen up like balloons and even though I exercised and practiced yoga, it wasn’t as consistent as it should have been. I didn’t have the energy I needed. I even struggled to do a simple child’s pose in yoga. This was a bit of a wakeup call, however, my turning point was going for a medical and the doctor telling me I am very close to needing to take cholesterol medication, and my blood pressure was up…everything else she said was a blur….
Now you would think that would get me started watching what I was eating it sort of gave me a bit of incentive…..but I have been a yoyo dieter in the past and I knew that just does not work for me. I needed a different approach this time, one that I could sustain.
My journey at NRG started about 2 years ago and it was one of the best decisions that I made.
The staff at NRG 4 Life are so friendly and always welcoming as soon as you walk through the door! They knew my name the first week I started.
I am happy to say that I am down 28 pounds and only have 7 more to go to reach my goal.
What I love about NRG is that there are so many classes that are offered to the members. There is something for everyone!
I love all the cardio classes and especially the Zumba class with Claudia. She has the best energy and is always smiling and encouraging you throughout the class.
This year I will be turning 50 and I thought I would love to be in the best shape possible before the BIG day. I will be going to Greece and Italy in September and really wanted to be able to wear a bathing suit and feel comfortable
I decided at the beginning of 2019 to do a weight loss program along with my husband. It’s a great motivation to be doing this with him as he encourages me each day.
Once I started to eat healthier and exercise 3 to 4 times a week the weight started to drop off. It’s amazing how easy it was.
Thank you to NRG for always making me feel like part of their family!
“I have always struggled with my weight, yo yo’ing up and down for many years. I joined NRG 4 Life in February ’18 and went faithfully 4+ times a week. I started to feel really good mentally and physically but only lost 6 pounds as I was still enjoying the finer things in life – FOOD.
Within a few months, I actually managed to gain back those 6 pounds by February of ’19 and It wasn’t until my daughter Emily said “Lets do a weight loss program together” that I really started getting the results I was looking for. This time, our focus was on healthy eating along with the exercise. With this combined approach, I truly started to see a difference. I began counting calories and tracking everything I ate. It is more time consuming, especially at the beginning, however, you can quickly identify what areas to focus on. The extra effort becomes habitual and so motivating as it really pays off!
I lost 25 pounds in 11 weeks and with going to the gym 4 times a week already, the weight just fell off. I am still eating the foods I like, just half the amount that I would have normally eaten.
The staff and other gym members at NRG are so encouraging and have always made my daughter and I feel welcome. I absolutely love the cardio classes and the Saturday morning circuits.
I still have more weight to lose, however, now that I’ve found the right plan for me, I know I will get there in time. My flab is turning into fab!! :-)” Trisha H, Uxbridge
I am thrilled to be a new part of the NRG family and am beyond happy with my decision to be a new member of this gym.
I had major back surgery on October 3rd, 2018 to repair prolapsed discs and spinal stenosis. The original surgery went great but then I got a bad infection. They tried to drain it but failing that I had a second surgery on November 7th, 2018.
Once feeling better, I knew I needed to get this weight off and get my core stronger or my back will never be the same. I have had a life long battle with weight. Feeling depressed and sad, I ran into Taya who said I should try NRG and how special of a place it is. I was scared and skeptical as I have always been quite intimidated by gyms.
The day I came, I went into NRG and I met Sarah and Terry who welcomed me with open arms. I immediately felt welcome. Since January 1st, I have lost 21 pounds. Do I have lots more to go… absolutely, but its one day at a time and one class at a time. I absolutely love the classes and of course they are a challenge but the instructors all show amazing modifications and I can get through those classes feeling proud of myself.
My advice to anyone, especially those heavier and afraid to put yourself out there… Just go for it… push your limits… face your fears… and you can do anything!!!
I can’t thank my personal trainer Taya enough for always making me feel amazing about myself. The staff at NRG are all so kind. Alex at the front desk reminds me everyday of how amazing I am doing and that “I can do it”!!
Thank you Sarah and Terry for having such an amazing place to be able to get healthy again. The variety of classes went beyond my expectations. There truly is something for everyone!
I am so appreciative of the support from my husband, my amazing family and friends, and my new family at NRG… I will never be alone in my journey! I look forward to sharing my next weight loss with all of you!Tracy H
After 30 plus years as a first responder, the effects of shift work and poor eating habits where quite evident as I entered retirement. I knew something had to change. In addition to changing my eating habits, I knew I would need to increase my physical activity and make it a regular part of my new routine. I was looking to join a gym for the 1st time in my life. My wife, who had been a member of NRG for over a year suggested I attend and give it a try.
Immediately upon entering the gym I noticed that it was bright, clean and was greeted with a friendly hello. The gym had everything that I wanted. A large number and variety of cardio machines and every piece of workout equipment I might need. I have never had to wait for a machine or weight machine. I think the atmosphere at the gym has been a large part of why I continue to attend. Since joining in November 2018 I have lost over 30 lbs, I have more energy and feel great.
Thank you NRG for providing a clean, bright, inviting and encouraging environment to help me reach my fitness goals.
