I am thrilled to be a new part of the NRG family and am beyond happy with my decision to be a new member of this gym.
I had major back surgery on October 3rd, 2018 to repair prolapsed discs and spinal stenosis. The original surgery went great but then I got a bad infection. They tried to drain it but failing that I had a second surgery on November 7th, 2018.
Once feeling better, I knew I needed to get this weight off and get my core stronger or my back will never be the same. I have had a life long battle with weight. Feeling depressed and sad, I ran into Taya who said I should try NRG and how special of a place it is. I was scared and skeptical as I have always been quite intimidated by gyms.
The day I came, I went into NRG and I met Sarah and Terry who welcomed me with open arms. I immediately felt welcome. Since January 1st, I have lost 21 pounds. Do I have lots more to go… absolutely, but its one day at a time and one class at a time. I absolutely love the classes and of course they are a challenge but the instructors all show amazing modifications and I can get through those classes feeling proud of myself.
My advice to anyone, especially those heavier and afraid to put yourself out there… Just go for it… push your limits… face your fears… and you can do anything!!!
I can’t thank my personal trainer Taya enough for always making me feel amazing about myself. The staff at NRG are all so kind. Alex at the front desk reminds me everyday of how amazing I am doing and that “I can do it”!!
Thank you Sarah and Terry for having such an amazing place to be able to get healthy again. The variety of classes went beyond my expectations. There truly is something for everyone!
I am so appreciative of the support from my husband, my amazing family and friends, and my new family at NRG… I will never be alone in my journey! I look forward to sharing my next weight loss with all of you!Tracy H
After 30 plus years as a first responder, the effects of shift work and poor eating habits where quite evident as I entered retirement. I knew something had to change. In addition to changing my eating habits, I knew I would need to increase my physical activity and make it a regular part of my new routine. I was looking to join a gym for the 1st time in my life. My wife, who had been a member of NRG for over a year suggested I attend and give it a try.
Immediately upon entering the gym I noticed that it was bright, clean and was greeted with a friendly hello. The gym had everything that I wanted. A large number and variety of cardio machines and every piece of workout equipment I might need. I have never had to wait for a machine or weight machine. I think the atmosphere at the gym has been a large part of why I continue to attend. Since joining in November 2018 I have lost over 30 lbs, I have more energy and feel great.

I started my weight loss journey April 2018. I knew my life had to change dramatically as I was finding it difficult to do everyday tasks like walking, stairs and enjoying time with friends and family. A friend asked me to join Weight Watchers with her and I did. When I first got on the scale I was embarrassed not only by the numbers but that my weight was what doctors would classify as obese. I took to the program quickly as it was easy to follow and did not require you to starve yourself to see results. Flash forward to October 2018… I was 30 pounds down! I was so proud of myself, however, I’d hit a plateau. I knew fitness was my next step. I checked out all the local gyms but as soon as I walked through the doors of NRG 4 Life Fitness, I knew it was the one for me. The staff and trainers have quickly become family. Everyone knew my name by the second day! I joined NRG mid October and have lost another 15 pounds (as of Dec 29) Total loss of 45 pounds!! NRG has the BEST classes. There’s so much variety that it ensures I work all the muscles in my body. The trainers and members are kind and do not judge. No matter what level you are, everyone encourages and literally cheers you on!
I still have a long journey ahead of me, however, I’m happy to be on it and I know that my NRG fam will help me stay on course!Jenn F
If you want to improve yourself all you have to do is start.
I started with 20 minutes of walking once a week, gradual small changes led me to a better diet, a structured exercise plan and now I’ve lost 80lbs.
Anyone can do it just take it slow and find what works for you.Adam D
