In 2011, Prime Minister Stephen Harper promised two things: an Adult Fitness Tax Credit (AFTC), and to double the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit. The latter has been done, and it is now time to have the AFTC implemented as well!

In other words, the AFTC is a proposed tax credit that will promote healthy and active living among Canadians, save tax money in the healthcare sector, and will result in tax benefits in up to $500 for each Canadian!
How do we get this credit passed by the federal government?
Well, the Fitness Industry Council of Canada (FIC) has recently launched a campaign to promote the passing of this credit. The FIC is the representative of the commercial fitness facilities of Canada, and they have been advocating for the AFTC because it promotes healthy living and benefits all Canadians!
