On Gratitude & Thankfulness

October 13, 2016NRG 4 Life FitnessUncategorized

Here at NRG 4 Life Fitness, we like to keep moving and sweat. Whether it’s a quick sprint up the stairs after lunch to get the heart pumping, a long hike on one of our many beautiful trails or shooting the puck on the ice, working a bit of exercise into every day is a huge part of our lives and helps keep us feeling healthy and empowered all year long. Thanksgiving serves as a reminder to keep the spirit of gratitude always on the forefront so we wanted to tell you what we are thankful for.  We hope you’ve enjoyed your Thanksgiving and encourage you to make every day you are thankful for!

“Above everything, I’m thankful for my health, my family and my friends. I’m also thankful that I live in a country where I receive free healthcare, where women and men have equal rights, and where I’m able to purse a post-secondary education. I’m thankful that I can go to bed at night without worrying for the safety of myself or others, and that I can walk outside by myself, with peace of mind. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year, because we get to embrace the true meaning of wealth; good food, great friends and family, and a roof over our head.” Nicole Dunford

“First and foremost…the health of my family, friends and myself. I am thankful for the amazing support our community provides, for the area that we live in is spectacular (especially now with the fall colours). Looking forward to hiking more this Fall. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!” Marlene Would

“This thanksgiving I am thankful for all of my wonderful family and friends, as well as the many great opportunities that have made way into my life this year, including this awesome job! I am also thankful for my sister being home for thanksgiving after being five hours away at university. There is nothing I am not grateful for, I am taking in every ounce life provides! I am beyond blessed, Happy Thanksgiving!” Olivia Doering

“I am thankful for living in a country that allows me the wonderful opportunity to serve our community freely.  If my family had not emigrated to Canada (from England), I may not be writing this right now.  I am blessed to have such a fantastic husband who ‘gets’ (not always understands!) me, who supports my ideas and always makes me laugh.  I am forever grateful for my parents and siblings who filled me with love at a young age and supported me, teaching me the balance of working hard and having fun, to laugh and move on, leaving hardships behind.  This foundation is a blessing.  I am in gratitude of my “second family” – our NRG members who’s fitness successes I am grateful to be a part of.  I am thankful for my health, a wonderful mother-in-law, kind in-laws and two wonderful cats that remind me to slow down (well one anyway!) and enjoy the simple pleasures in life! I’m also thankful for my nieces and nephews.  I appreciate all the great opportunities I’ve had due to choosing fitness as my career.  Teaching at so many beautiful, tropical resorts and meeting fantastic people from all over the world who I’ve been able to share my passion of health and fitness with is something I’ll always feel grateful for.”  Sarah Terrion
